I don’t know about you guys, but coming out of quarantine feels like coming out of a cave and being blinded by the light. All of a sudden we have to socialize, all of a sudden we can’t roll out of bed, all of a sudden we don’t have the extra time to cook or clean in breaks. The other day my family went out for take out and a drive by the beach. Wearing shoes for the first time in the three months I’ve been self isolated felt like torture. So how can we make this transition comfortably, without compromising style, especially for going back to work? If you’re a Crohnie like me, the idea of wearing slacks with a tight belt and blazer sounds horrendous for my typically bloated tum.
Luckily, in all my quarantine free time, I’ve done a bit of online shopping and found some key pieces for my new post-corona and Crohn’s diagnosis wardrobe. My new style is heavily reliant on high waisted, loose fitting tailored pants that not only conceal the bloated tum, but give it room to breathe. Light fabrics like cotton and linen are very airy for summer, but not restricting. Another restriction I’ve been having to work around is the fact that I have suddenly started sweating, like all the time. Why … you ask? I have no clue people. It might just be my body making a futile attempt at sweating out the Crohn’s. But nonetheless, light fabrics that don’t show pit stains and don’t cling to my body are my new best friend. Lastly, shoes. These two pairs of shoes are my pride and joy and did not break the bank. They’re so comfy yet flattering to any outfit! (Also TMI, but I have bunions so if I say shoes are comfortable you people better know I mean it …)
I hope you enjoy this mini collection and get some inspiration from it. These pieces are genuinely ones that I love and this post isn’t sponsored. Even if someday I get the privilege of doing this, what I love, for money, I will only ever market things that are actually useful to me and of good quality. If they aren’t, I’ll be sure to let you know. For example, those gingham pants are darn cute and 100% not see through … as long as you wear nude underwear. They also are made of a slightly cheaper feeling fabric, but their airy feel and the fact that they fit loosely on the body while still keeping a flattering shape makes up for it. Not to mention the price and how they don’t restrict my belly when I’m not feeling well. Happy back to work and back to a new normal lovelies!
