Traveling with IBD can be daunting and the simple idea of it might be enough to make you feel like you should stay at home. It shouldn’t! The world is in need of people like you to go out and travel the globe. Persons with disabilities who live their lives by their terms are the ones changing the way the world sees disabilities. We have a long way to go, whether it’s being made to feel awkward in the workplace or unaccommodated for in the airport. There’s so much room for improvement!
Navigating life with IBD in itself can be a challenge, and if you’re like me, leaving behind a seemingly carefree life can be pretty hard. Although I’m not angry at my body for demanding a healthier diet and forcing me to take care of myself through my diagnosis, I can’t help but get a little angry and upset every time I realize it will never be as simple as booking a flight and walking out the door. That’s why I created this little guide to help you, and me, get on our way to changing the world and discovering new places … all from the comfort of your car.
