When I was diagnosed with Crohn’s, I felt so out of control of what was happening in my body that I knew I needed to take drastic measures to get myself back on track. And I also knew that if I wanted to get serious about my health, I would need a program that would hold myself accountable.
I started looking around for a health course and found a bunch of college programs. But I didn’t want to become a nutritional scientist. I wanted to learn how to heal my body holistically. Meaning, I knew that I needed other alternative forms of healing in addition to nutrition, and I wanted to learn how to make time to fit them all together and fast.
Well, my journey didn’t happen overnight, but I finally found a program that worked for me. I’ve recorded a lil commercial that I can share in the future, but it gives a bit of background and how I decided on that program. What’s great is that I’m able to share a discount with you all and receive a commission. I always want to be transparent about where I’m benefiting from sharing certain products and services with you guys, but just know, I will only ever share things that I have used and tried extensively and that make sense to share with you! So I’ll play that now and get back to you after!
A few months after I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, I knew I had to take drastic measures to take back my health and wellbeing. I wanted to make sure I was living the healthiest life I could be before adding medication into the mix. I also knew I needed a program that would hold me accountable while also teaching me everything I wanted to learn about, from nutrition and fitness to finances, meditation, Feng Shui for my home, and other alternative practices I was so interested in, but knew nothing about or how to incorporate them into my life. I had one friend, then two, then three until several people had told me about the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. It was so odd how I kept hearing about it so I looked it up and it literally checked off all the boxes of what I was looking for. While IIN’s program is called the health coach training program, I signed up with the intent to learn just for myself. Well, here we are a few years later, and while I haven’t become a practicing health coach with clients, I found my niche for my design business: wellness, I got my first few clients through IIN, make life long friends, started The Lovely Digest, shared my story, and most importantly, learned how to live a whole, healthy, and authentic to me lifestyle. Soon after graduating the program, I went into remission and completely healed my intestines. My doctor was so thrilled and all the nurses cheered me on coming out of that colonoscopy. I cannot recommend the program enough. Naturally, I’ve become an ambassador for IIN, and have a code below if you’re interested. I do get a commission, but truly cannot recommend the program enough. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out on Instagram @lovelydigest or by email – lovelydigest@gmail.com They’ve recently redone the entire program and it looks incredible – they’ve added in teachers such as Melissa Wood Health, Zach Bushe (my personal favorite Dr. on the planet – I use his supplements for me and my cat Luna and just love listening to his podcasts), Deepak Chopra, Mark Groves, Michelle Maldonado and so many more. Ok there you go! I hope that was helpful and gave some more insight into the program. I decided on IIN because of the breadth of knowledge they teach over the course of 6 months or a year, depending on the pace you want to go at or if you’re working or going to school at the same time. While I really appreciate diving deep into the science when necessary, such as learning about more “fringe” health practices, I was more interested in getting the bigger picture view of my health, and how I could change all aspects of my life to be in alignment with a healthier and more authentic lifestyle.
